Whole House in Skopelos island with big private terrace, garden, barbecue and wonderful sea view

This beautiful old townhouse on the iconic Mama Mia island Skopelos is very quietly situated, in the midst of the old town in picturesque surroundings. The access road has steps and is therefore car-free. In 1999 the ruin of an old house was completely demolished and in the years that followed the house was completely rebuilt from the ground up, using the old stones. The aim was to create a cosy building, taking the building traditions of the island into consideration. The owner was inspired by old photos. The total renovation was completed . The result is an exceptional holiday house that combines tradition with modern comfort. The house provides 80m² of inside living space, a 40m2 terace and is suitable for two people. It is accessed through a really big courtyard surrounded by a wall, with BBQ and a sunbed sofa. You enter into the spacious living room on the ground floor. A breakfast counter separates the living room with a fireplace, a sofa and a lovely antique dining table from the lovely kitchen, with quality appliances including a SMEG portifino stove, oven, fridge, microwave, coffee machine and kettle. The ground floor also has a bathroom with a shower, a WC, a beautiful washbasin and decorative mirrors. There is also a hairdryer. Stairs lead up to the fabulous bedroom with four windows, wooden ceiling beams and another fireplace. The room spans the whole upper floor. The windows look out towards the sea and the mountains. There are cupboards and drawers built into the wall. The double bed measures 160 x 200cm. The whole house has air conditioning with a warm and cool function. An imaginative décor and tasteful furnishing make this house homely and inviting and create a feeling of coziness and privacy.

Two balcony doors lead from the bedroom out onto the traditional wooden balcony, affording a wonderful view of the sea over the rooftops as far as the harbour. The courtyard has a big terrace with a grill, so you can dine outdoors and enjoy sunbathing and relaxing. There is all day long a combination between sunny and shady spots. There is a lemon tree in front of the house, along with fragrant jasmine. You can park on the free, public car park above the house and the access road.

It is a ten-minute walk to the harbour and to tavernas and shops. The way back takes about fifteen minutes. It is a ten-minute walk via Kastro to the beach at Glifoneri. There is a launderette near the house. Did you know that Skopelos was used as the set for the film “Mamma Mia”?
