Light and friendly holiday house with two roof terraces

The large and quiet holiday house has two floors and lies at the heart of the romantic mountain village Kritsa at 287 metres above sea level, near the major town Agios Nikolaos on the north coast in the east of Crete.

The house of around 90m² has a fully-equipped kitchen with an oven, a large fridge and freezer, an electric stove with an oven, a toaster, a kettle and a coffee machine. The cosy living room provides a TV with a CD/DVD player, a stereo system and a dining table for up to seven people, as well as a sofa bed (140 x 200cm) for two people. Two air-conditioned light bedrooms with a double bed each (140x200 cm) can accommodate four people. One bedroom also has a child’s travel bed optionally and on request. All the bedrooms can be closed off by a door. The large and very light bathroom with a window, a shower bath and a washing machine is on the upper floor. There is an additional guest WC on the ground floor. You can set up two portable fans. The house is especially suitable for families with children and for couples. Board games, card games and a selection of books about the history and culture of the island are provided for entertainment. A cool box is available for your trips. The rental price includes the final cleaning, wireless Internet access, electricity and water, a laundry package (towels, bed linen) and a hygiene package (soap, washing up liquid, tea towels, toilet paper). The house is non-smoking, but smoking is permitted on the two sun terraces.

The house has two big roof terraces with tables, chairs and a parasol providing shade. On the upper roof terrace there is also a charcoal grill for a sociable grill evening. You can end the day on one of the two fabulous roof terraces with a breathtaking view over the village with an impressive view of the sea and the cliff backdrop. You can park your car right in front of the property for loading and unloading. There are public, free parking spaces along the road about a minute away. Pets are not allowed.

The very well-developed New Road connects Kritsa with the international airport in Heraklion (Iraklio). There are many car rental services at the arrivals terminal. It is about 50-60 minutes by car along the Mediterranean sea and through impressive rocky gorges.

The house is in the authentic Greek village Kristsa near Agios Nikolaos. Many tavernas with delicious Mediterranean meals and everyday shops, souvenirs, arts and crafts are just 45 metres from the house. You can buy olive oils, textiles, leather shoes and belts, natural soaps, ceramics etc. You can do shopping at a branch of the discount supermarket Lidl on the way to Agios Nikolaos ca. 5 minutes away by car. There is an ATM on the main street in the village, about 100 metres from the house. Kritsa is known for its narrow, picturesque and winding alleys and authentic village houses. Typical Greek houses and churches and magnificent old olive trees exude a special flair and ensure lasting holiday memories. Within ten minutes there are the two official beaches with fine sand (Almyros and Ammoudura), with sun loungers, parasols, jet-skis and other water sports activities. There are other sandy beaches and bays with clean sea water and romantic cliffs just 15 minutes away. Elounda is about 20 minutes away. The area also has a lot to offer those interested in archaeology.

    “Typisch kretisches Haus mit ganz viel Charme. Nett, freundlich und mit ganz viel Liebe eingerichtet. Es ist alles vorhanden, was man als Selbstversorger braucht. Die kleine Dachterrasse wurde ausgiebig genutzt. Wer Individualtourismus und keinen Pauschaltourismus sucht, ist hier bestens aufgehoben.
    Die Betreuung vor Ort ist hervorragend, das Parken in 5 Gehminuten kostenlos.”

    “Von außen klein wirkendes, aber innen überraschend geräumiges Ferienhaus in dem ganz wunderbaren Ort Kritsa. Sehr gemütlich! Highlight ist die Dachterrasse mit einem klasse Blick über den Ort und die Olivenhaine in Richtung Meer. Auch sehr früh im Jahr schon zum Frühstücken im Freien perfekt geeignet!

    Das Haus liegt in einem der vielen engen Gässchen Kritsas, zwischen normalen Wohnhäusern. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und tolle Restaurants quasi direkt vor der Haustür. Ideal für alle, die Griechenland wirklich erleben wollen.

    Unbedingt noch erwähnenswert: Die englischsprachige Kontaktperson vor Ort. Stets hilfsbereit und immer einen guten Tipp auf Lager. Die junge Dame ist eine Seele von Mensch!”

    “Das Haus befindet sich in einem ursprünglichen und sehr romantischen Bergdorf. Für Ruhesuchende sehr geeignet. Das Haus ist sehr modern eingerichtet und sehr!!! sauber. Auf der Dachterrasse mit Meerblick kann man den Urlaubstag bei einem Glas Wein sehr entspannt ausklingen lassen.”
