Modern accommodation set within a medieval flair, in a little cliffside house dating back to 1586 at Monschau Castle

This apartment is in a detached house and is on the first and second floor. The cliffside house is within the historical castle complex with a fantastic view over Monschau, a little locality on the edge of Eifel National Park. The house was built in 1586 and was last renovated in 2015.

The apartment of around 96m² has hallway, a bathroom with a shower, toilet, washbasin and hairdryer on the first floor, as well as the two bedrooms, one furnished with a double bed (180cm wie) and one with a French bed (140cm wide). Stairs lead to the second floor with a further hallway, a storage room, a living and dining room and a kitchen. The living and dining room provides a comfortable sofa that can be converted into a bed for two further people (150cm wide), a coffee table, satellite TV with a CD/DVD player, and a table with two benches. The kitchen is equipped with a ceramic hob, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and coffee machine. The owner can provide a highchair and a toddler bed/cot free of charge. The whole apartment has heating and free wireless Internet access. The very high-quality interior is very popular among guests and is constantly adapted to our guests’ wishes, for example the recent addition of a new fridge with a freezer compartment.

The accommodation does not have a direct outdoor area, but nearby you can find a large playground and the outdoor area of the castle complex. You can park your car free of charge on a private space. Pets are not allowed.

During the extensive renovation in 2015, attention was paid to offering guests all the necessary comfort without losing the flair of the historical building structure.

There are many trip destinations nearby, such as Hohe Venn, the Rursee and the aforementioned national park, all within easy access of the accommodation. The Nürburgring racng track and Spa Francorchamps are about an hour away by car. Many hiking trails lead right past the accommodation. The second stage of the famous Eifelsteig ends on the doorstrp. The renovated Vennbd is 500m from the accommodation. The Monschau Festival is held right on the doorstep. It is 200 metres on foot to the old town with many shops, restaurants and bars.

    “Een top huisje op een top locatie. Echter ontbrak het wel aan wat informatie. Waar de auto parkeren? waar afval te laten? etc. In de keuken ontbrak een oven (was wel gewenst geweest).”
