Unique and spacious property with terrace Ondarreta Beach, San Sebastian

The apartment is located in San Sebastian, in the neighbourhood of Ondarreta-Antiguo.
The complex is integrated into the natural surroundings of the slopes of Monte Igueldo, in the neighbourhood of Antiguo - Ondarreta, part of a unique residential complex designed in 1979 by the architect Carlos Sobrini (Santesteban 1925-Madrid 2020), winner of the National Architecture Prize in 1959 for his extraordinary contribution to the enrichment of the social, technological and sustainable aspects of Spanish architecture and town planning.

The complex is integrated into the natural surroundings of the slopes of Monte Igueldo and the property has a private entrance and faces south-east.

Free public parking is available next to the property and there is a public bus stop 10 metres from the apartment.

The Antiguo neighbourhood is the oldest in the city. An ideal place to stroll around, with its own personality that has managed to modernise without losing its essence. In its streets you will find traditional shops and the best gastronomy, because in its bars and restaurants you will get to know the exquisite flavour of this neighbourhood.

When you walk along the Paseo de La Concha you can already sense that the Antiguo has to be a special area. At the top of the watchtower at the entrance to the neighbourhood, the Miramar Palace welcomes you.

To access the Antiguo from Paseo de la Concha you have to cross a small tunnel called Miramar located under the Pico del Loro. A passageway that will immerse you in an underwater world. Thanks to its decoration, it will seem as if you are walking along the bottom of the Cantabrico Sea.

And when you come out of the tunnel, you will find Ondarreta beach. Sheltered by Monte Igueldo and Santa Clara Island, Ondarreta is the ideal place to swim and have a good time among the blue and white awnings that give it a unique touch.

No two neighbourhoods in Donostia / San Sebastian are the same. Each one has its own essence. But there is one with a special magic and a unique landscape, because it is the only one with a beach, a palace and an underwater tunnel.

And if you don't want to step on the sand, you can stroll along the promenade full of gardens that surrounds it. A promenade that borders the Bay of La Concha and will take you to the Peine del Viento, a magical place where you can sit and watch the sea or play at running away from it.

Here, the waves jump between the spikes of the three sculptures creating a spectacular landscape. But the water and the wind, always so playful, will not be satisfied with just trying to get you wet by jumping over the small wall. They will wait patiently, and when you least expect it, they will slip through the holes in the ground to come out in the form of a geyser and bring a smile to your face. Remember that the photo with the water coming out of the holes is a must.

And after this fun time, go to the foot of Mount Igueldo and take the funicular railway that will plunge you into the past. After a pleasant ride on this 1912 rack railway with spectacular views, you'll arrive at a vintage amusement park, the kind that doesn't exist any more.

A place where children will have a great time, you'll go back to your childhood, ride on attractions from another era, laugh in front of mirrors with impossible reflections, fly on magic carpets and get excited on Swiss mountains suspended over the sea.

After climbing Monte Igueldo, it is time to return to the Old Town and wander through its streets, where you will find touches of tradition and modernity. A wide street, Avenida de Tolosa, allows you to cross the Antiguo from Ondarreta beach to the area of the Universities.

Be sure to take a look at all the intersections along this avenue, where you will find gardens, parks and squares full of life in San Sebastian. And, above all, you will find a large number of bars and restaurants where you can savour the fantastic pintxos (tapas) and gastronomy of San Sebastian.

By bus, bike, on foot or on foot. The options you have to get from any point in San Sebastian or even from outside the city to the Antiguo are very varied. By public transport, by bike, or by taking a pleasant stroll, choose the option that suits you best.

If you are in San Sebastian you can take the city buses. Blue and green in colour and with the name Dbus, you should pay attention to the number and the stops they make. For example, the lines that stop at Ondarreta, Universidades, Av. Tolosa or Benta Berri pass through Antiguo and will take you to your destination.
And if walking is your thing, this neighbourhood awaits you with wide pavements and pedestrian areas surrounded by gardens that will make your walk a most pleasant stroll.

In the Antiguo, the most emblematic places such as El Peine del Viento, Ondarreta, the Miramar Palace or the Pico del Loro will amaze you. But the essence that the neighbourhood holds within its streets will captivate you.
