Ponte Buggianese is a quiet village in the lowlands of the Val di Nievole and its proximity to the Padule di Fucecchio makes it an excellent starting point for exploring the natural beauty of Italy's largest inland marshland, even if it is now much smaller than the old lake marshes. The Padule is a true paradise for birdwatchers and a natural gem that will delight young and old alike. The village's charm is enhanced by the still visible evidence of the construction work carried out here over the centuries by the Medici and Lorraine families. The 17th century pilgrimage church of the Madonna del Buon Consiglio is well worth a visit during a stroll through the village. The region is also rich in cultural, historical and artistic treasures, which you can immerse yourself in in the towns of Montecatini Terme, Lucca, Pistoia, Prato and Florence.
