It majestically defends its hill(s) with a long driveway to prevent unwanted visitors from getting too close or disturbing the peace and quiet of its guests, but its widely scattered neighbours value their privacy. As open and welcoming as the villa, which even has a tower, may appear, you don't really expect any big surprises to await you inside. In addition to the terrace, furnished with exquisite rattan lounge furniture and a long dining table, the L-shaped pool with its own mini garden stands out; the pool is reached via a playfully laid out stone path across the lawn, which leads you safely to the wide steps that lead down into the pool. Sun loungers and parasols await you on the pool terrace with wonderful views of the green Mallorcan landscape. If you wish, you can explore the grounds on foot, perhaps on a lovely afternoon stroll. You may need a walk after experimenting on the fantastic gas barbecue, which for many is the perfect place to let their culinary juices flow.

The big surprise that Da Na Bibiana has in store is, of course, the charmingly designed patio with an antique fountain in the sunny spot in the centre. Three of the four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms are accessible from here (the fourth has the tower one floor up all to itself). In this way, you can enjoy air and space, both to the inner courtyard and to the garden or even to your own terrace; large animal skins lie on the floor, comfortable armchairs offer a restful retreat, natural stone elements give the rooms that certain something and XXL double beds promise undisturbed sleep. A walk-in wardrobe has also been concealed in one of the rooms. The private, pastel-coloured bathrooms are comfortably equipped, some with double washbasins, bathtubs, walk-in showers and towel warmers - especially on holiday, you don't want to share them with others; instead, you want to be able to move at your own pace. The large, Asian-inspired living area with flatscreen TV and fireplace is also particularly popular: an ideal place for whiskey chats with the lads while the ladies cosy up outside on the wicker armchairs with a glass of wine and Prosecco. The only thing that needs to be clarified is who is in charge of the kitchen, although simply calling it a kitchen doesn't do it justice: It's an open-plan stainless steel marvel, complete with milk frother, food processor, hob covers and juice blender all within easy reach! Here, even a staunch fast food fan might become a maestro de las ensaladas!

Son Macià is appreciated by people who value exclusivity and relaxation away from the crowds on their holiday, but at the same time don't want to miss out on proximity to the sea and the promenade. Along the east coast you will find hidden dream bays such as Cala Virgili, harbour towns and hotspots; seeing and being seen is part of a great holiday. You should visit the small town of Felanitx on a market day (your barbecue needs to be topped up!) and look for shoes in the pedestrianised area of Manacor; Rafael Nadal's trophies are at Sport And if you like hiking, Mallorca's own Tuscany between Cas Concos and Calonge has much more to offer than just a big field ...

In a wonderfully tranquil, wooded area between bustling Manacor and the narrow streets of Felanitx, the elegant Villa Da Na Bibiana offers just the thing for an upmarket holiday, with all rooms en suite. The quiet village of Son Macià, a convenient 20-minute drive away, offers a supermarket, bank and cafés to cover all your basic needs; for more, just drive about 10 km in either direction. The coastline between Porto Cristo and Portopetro invites you to stroll and discover the beautiful beaches of Cala d'Or, Cala Bota and Cala Pilota.
