A touch of nostalgia with a dash of romance characterises Villa Can Cuquet as a special holiday home. Located in the still agricultural southern part of the island near the small town of Campos, a two-storey quarry stone house welcomes us with a spacious living area of 300 m² and a wonderfully authentic holiday destination for up to 4 people with a very beautiful outdoor area. Other villas are in the neighbourhood. The highlights here are clearly to be found in the details. These are lovingly preserved and crafted, very old memorabilia, which are combined with each other and enhanced by modern aspects. On entering the beautiful old farmhouse kitchen, we are greeted by modern conveniences that we would not want to do without. In the fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, large oven, coffee machine, etc.) we find old, hand-turned chairs with farmhouse drawings, old copper pans on the walls, hand-painted tiles behind the oven, a built-in cupboard in the wall, a rocking chair, lighting that looks like a gas lamp and much more. Just 2 steps lead you to a sitting area with LCD TV, past an antique screen and into the living area with high ceilings. The cosy sitting area in front of the large fireplace is an absolutely lovely corner for lounging on cooler evenings. To the left, a staircase leads to the open gallery, which houses an extensive library and gives a very nice, almost stately feel. The spacious house offers other lovely corners to relax in. The vaulted wine cellar with old barrels, a long table and a chill-out area for relaxing is of course particularly unusual. The nostalgic Villa Can Cuquet once again bears witness to the old, agricultural tradition of this region around Campos, Llucmajor and Felanitx.

The bedrooms on the upper floor, one of which has its own bathroom, are wonderfully cosy and offer plenty of storage space for your holiday wardrobe. Here, too, we find carefully selected, handmade wooden furniture and exceptionally delicately crafted bed frames. The two bathrooms on the upper floor are particularly well designed. They are characterised by high-quality fittings and accessories with a nostalgic look. The original Arabic tiles from the 16th century have been upgraded with new, hand-painted tiles. Details such as the small washbasin in the bathroom have been carefully preserved. These are unusual tile designs that are rarely found today: the typical blue and white pattern of ceramic tiles. The floral borders in the bathroom with the free-standing bathtub are wonderfully discreet and yet a real eye-catcher. We particularly like the sink in the golden-green shower room, which is shaped like a stone jug. You can see the attention to detail and there is so much more to discover than we could mention here.

In addition to the enchanting interior, the outdoor area is also beautifully designed. A footpath leads to the two-storey, romantic villa between Mediterranean garden beds. There are numerous wonderful seating areas around the villa where you can relax and unwind. The pool area, decorated with old agricultural relics, offers sun loungers and a parasol. The pool area consists of a swimming pool and a whirlpool, separated but still connected. A special highlight are the covered seating areas by the villa. A small round table with a Hollywood swing offers a quiet spot. However, the large summer kitchen, which is also covered, is particularly unusual. It houses a large, round dining table under old wooden beams, a complete outdoor kitchen with chimney grill and even an oven. Even if you have opted for self-catering, you can spend the day outdoors whatever the weather. The heating and fireplace make Villa Can Cuquet a wonderful winter holiday home. The large living room is perfect for spending a cosy Christmas with the family. As soon as you enter the villa, you will realise that this is not your typical holiday villa. You will feel like you are visiting friends.

Gentle hills and plenty of greenery characterise the southern landscape. The beautiful natural beaches such as Es Trenc or Can Curt are easy to reach by hire car. If you go shopping in nearby towns, you can always take a little detour to the beach as there are simply so many, such as Es Freu de Ses Covetes. When you return to the harmoniously nostalgic and modern Villa Can Cuquet after your excursions, you will receive a warm welcome. We at Fincallorca wish you a relaxing holiday.
