If you want to book a villa, you are often looking for that special holiday home away from the tourist crowds where you can relax and feel at home. If you are interested in the history of Mallorca and the island's ethnology, Villa Son Caldes is the ideal holiday home full of tradition. The old farmhouse has been lovingly and sustainably converted into a charming villa that awaits its holiday guests. Set on an impressive 50,000 m² estate, you can enjoy an absolutely secluded location in the middle of the plain around Llucmajor. You can enjoy the hustle and bustle of this very pretty town, which is only a short drive away.
The friendly landlords have divided the generous living space of 300 m² into a main house with three comfortable bedrooms and three bathrooms (two en-suite, the other with a free-standing, nostalgic bathtub) as well as rustic living spaces, some of which are connected to charming adjoining lintels and a separate adjoining flat, just 10 metres away. The apartment has a small kitchen and a pretty bathroom. The small gallery next to the living area, which houses two single beds that can be pushed together, is particularly nice. You can sleep wonderfully directly under the roof. The apartment is not heated, but has a fireplace that can be used for heating on cooler days. The apartment is ideal for children or teenagers (especially if they are a little older and want to enjoy their personal space or take a friend on holiday with them).
The main house is beautifully designed. Exposed quarry stone masonry and wooden ceiling beams clearly harmonise with the many agricultural artefacts. A modern fireplace in the kitchen, where the cooker used to be, hand-painted typical Mallorcan wall tiles and the modern comfort of the American fridge with ice machine are in no way at odds with each other. This old cottage has been brought up to date to meet modern requirements and at the same time subtly convey details of its past with collections of old jugs, wall plates, copper pans and other lovingly arranged details. The living area with armchairs and chairs in different colours is located on a second level away from the kitchen. There is even a television. The very spacious living room has another LCD television.
In addition to the very comfortable and cosy living and sleeping areas, there are numerous seating options in the outdoor area. Here you will find a large dining table with many chairs, small shady benches and a coffee house ensemble of four chairs under an arch where you can enjoy your coffee in the sun or shade. The polyrattan sun loungers offer guests a comfortable place to lie down and enjoy the calm and mild Mediterranean climate or relax after a dip in the private pool. Fancy a little wine tasting? Enjoy your day in the area surrounding the villa, for example in the nearby, diverse town of Llucmajor. A market is held twice a week on the Placa d'Espana, which is lined with numerous cafés, restaurants and bars. On Fridays there is a large vegetable market where you can buy fresh local produce and prepare it later in the villa. End the day with a cosy barbecue and a good glass of Mallorcan red wine. As the villa is located on the road that connects the stunning island metropolis of Palma with the southern town of Santanyi, you can easily visit both towns. Shopping in Palma is a must for many villa holidaymakers. Depending on the time of year, you may sometimes notice that the villa is surrounded by hunting grounds. The traditional Son Caldes villa estate is located near the well-known town of Llucmajor in the south of the island. Guests can use the main house and the adjoining house, which is approx. 10 metres away. You can go shopping in Llucmajor and enjoy the colourful hustle and bustle on the Placa d'Espana. The island metropolis of Palma can be reached in approx. 25 minutes by car and is perfect for extensive shopping trips. The beautiful beaches of the south coast, such as Calo de San Antoni, are around 15 minutes away.
