The place has its own holiday called Karmenica, which is celebrated on July 16 with a rich gastronomic offer. It is connected to the town of Rab by a six-kilometer-long coastal promenade, ideal for morning cycling or running. The island of Rab has a beautiful landscape with long, pleasant walking paths and beautiful, varied beaches. If you want to experience the most beautiful sandy beach in the region, you will find it in Lopar. The island is also known for its gastronomic offer, especially fish specialties, among which Kvarner shrimps stand out. We definitely recommend you to try the Rab cake, a specialty of the island. In summer there are numerous cultural and sporting events. Notable are Rapska Fijera, a three-day festival at the end of July, and the Rab Music Festival. The island is also known as a paradise for boaters and has a rich historical heritage. In the town of Rab you will be amazed by the old town with four bell towers. Not only the long coastline, abundance of natural plants, fertile fields, vineyards and olive groves, but especially the people make this island desirable as a modern tourist destination all year round.
