This is how holiday rental owners described Cala Mondrago
Mondragó Cala is situated in the municipality of Santanyi, 5 km. of S'Alquería White. It is one of the few areas not usually frequented by tourists who crowd the island in summer.

show more being one of the recesses of the island's most beautiful and great.
It is divided into two beaches, and is S'Amarador Caló de sa Font de n'Alis.
Cala Mondragó was declared Natural Park in 1992 by the Parliament of the Balearic Islands and the 1995 Area of Special Interest in Birds by the European Community.
Cala Mondrago, in the south-east corner of Majorca, is considered one of the best beaches in the Balearics.
It's a secluded spot eight kilometres south of the town of Cala d'Or and its comparative lack of development has made it popular with independent travellers.
Two sandy coves are bordered by rocky headlands, with pines edging their way down to the water's edge. The northern beach is more sheltered, the southern one less crowded. Both are quiet, but you can still rent sun loungers and paddle boats. There are gentle waves, and the water is warm; it's good for children. And if neither beach is to your liking, you can walk to the neighbouring beaches of Calo des Borgit and S'Amarador.
There is a restaurant and a couple of hotels at Cala Mondrago, but for more entertainment you will have to go to Cala d'Or or Santanyi. There is a bus service, but in the evenings you'll need your own car or a taxi. During summer a tourist train runs from Cala d'Or to Porto Petro, terminating at Cala Mondrago.
The beach is part of the protected Mondrago Parc Natural, which consists of almost 2,000 acres of wetland and farmland. Flora includes crops, holm oak, juniper, rushes and reed beds; fauna includes coot, black-necked grebe, redshank, Balearic lizard, snake, genet and rabbit.
The park is open every day and is accessible from north or south. It has trails for cycling, riding and walking and you should be able to get a map from the visitor centre at the Fonts de N'Alis car park, near the resort
