This is how holiday rental owners described Dozza

Dozza is an Italian town of about 6,100 inhabitants in the province of Bologna; it consists of two little villages: Toscanella (about 4,000 inhabitants) and Dozza (little more than a thousand inhabitants). The town is also called "Dozza Imolese" to distinguish it from the homonymous district of Bologna. Dozza is ...

considered one of the most picturesque medieval villages of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, due to the conservation status, and also for the landscape in which it is immersed: Vineyards and rolling hills, framing the medieval village, that is topped by the majestic Sforza fortress.
Dozza is made unique by the many paintings that adorn the facades of the houses and give the village a distinctive appearance. The Biennale of Painted Wall (born in1965) is the most important event. Famous national and international artists perform permanent works on the walls of houses in the small town, giving it the peculiar characteristic of open-air art gallery. It can therefore be argued that, in Dozza, art and history blend harmoniously.

In the cellars of the castle is the Enoteca Regionale Emilia-Romagna. It is an association that involves more than 200 producers of wine, balsamic vinegar and spirits, public bodies and consortiums. Founded in 1970, eight years later it obtained official recognition from the Region. The activity of the Enoteca is a two-way:
Exposure of wine (in a shop-museum, set in 2006 within the Sforza castle, where you can find an exhibition of over 1000 regional labels), and disclosure of the wine culture;
Promotion of regional wine in Italy and abroad, through the coordination and support for participation in trade fairs (such as Vinitaly).
