The Thuringian Forest is an uninterrupted stretch of curved mountains, stretching from northwest to southeast in Thuringia, Germany. Much of its highest point is covered with thick pines and firs. The forest is 35 km wide, and is also referred to as the green heart of Germany. One can rent holiday apartments and holiday houses in the Thuringian Forest to stay close to nature.
