A cosy holiday house in the midst of a nature reserve

This holiday accommodation is idyllically situated in the Alentejo coastal area, between Odemira, a lovely, typical Portuguese little town, and São Luis, a pleasant little town. The site is enclosed by old stone walls and a little stream. A cork oak forest starts behind it. The landscape is hilly and is in a nature reserve.

The living space of around 50m² consists of a combined living room-kitchen with a sleeping corner (bed 160 x 200cm), and a separate bedroom with two single beds (90 x 190cm) and a bathroom. The apartment is fully equipped and furnished. The living room provides a sitting corner by the fireplace, satellite TV, a CD and DVD player and a stereo system. The kitchen includes a gas stove, fridge, coffee machine, and a dining table with chairs. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, a washbasin with a cupboard underneath, a mirror, a WC and a window. There is running hot and cold water from a deep well. The reliable solar panels generate electricity and cooking is with gas (replacement bottles are available).

The separately situated holiday house also has a south-facing terrace, affording a beautiful view of the site and the forest opposite. There are two parking spaces on site.

You can use the Internet connection free of charge during your stay. Two mountain bikes can be borrowed for a fee for exploring the area. For relaxation, massages and Reiki are on offer (payable), so you can put together a little wellness programme on your holiday for relaxation and revitalisation, according to your own wishes: full body massage, relaxation or deep massage, back massage and Reiki sessions.

The pleasant little town provides all everyday amenities, including a market hall with fresh fish, fruit and vegetables. It is about 15km to Vila Nova de Milfontes, which was built in 1486 by D. Joao II and is the nearest town by the sea. The good range of restaurants, cosy bars and shops are worth a particular mention. The Mira flows here into the Atlantic, with boats as far as Odemira. There are also rowing boats and a couple of motor jets by the delta and a little boat provides daily connections during the summer months to the opposite river bank and to Furnas, the beach on the other side, which invites you to visit the many bays during low tide. There are many hiking possibilities and horse farms nearby and further afield, so you can go on horseback excursions on the beach or through the wild nature of the inland area. In Brunheiras 2km from Milfontes there is a typical Portuguese market twice a month, with daily fresh fish, vegetables and fruit. There is also plenty of nightlife, with various bars and discos, so there is something for everyone. The owner looks forward to welcoming you.

    “Een heerlijk huis, schoon, gezellige sfeer en indeling.
    Het bed vond ik wel te hard. En buiten miste wij een lampje om 's avonds nog lekker op het terras te kunnen lezen.
    De tuin is groot en mooi en de gastvrouw kwam ons tomaatjes uit eigen tuin brengen en wij mochten iedere dag zelf tomaten plukken en ze waren echt verrukkelijk.
    Het huisje ligt afgelegen, maar dat wisten we. De weg er naartoe was erg hobbelig en moeizaam, maar werd halverwege de week toevallig wat vlak gemaakt door grote bulldozers.
    Praktisch boodschappen doen is wel een aanrader, geen verse broodjes in de ochtend.
    Wij hebben er een heerlijke week gehad”

    “Es hat alles was es braucht, es ist sauber, die Lage hat uns sehr gefallen, obwohl es recht abgelegen ist. Zum Erholen sehr empfehlenswert, sehr nette hosts. Der Weg dahin ist eine Herausforderung und mit einem etwas tiefer gelegtem Auto hat man kaum Chance.
    Preis-Leistung sehr gut.”
