Cosy, listed timber-framed house with a large terrace and a sauna, on a slope with a view oft h Elbe and the Elbsandsteingebirge

This renovated, listed timber-framed house from the year 1690 with a large terrace is on a slope with a view towards the Elbe and the Elbsteingebirge and over Bad Schandau. The detached holiday house is in the Krippen area on a cul-de-sac without through traffic that serves as a driveway. Krippen is at the start of a valley opening towards the Elbe and is nestled into the greenery of the forests that reach right to the house. Owing to this location, the house is an ideal starting point for cycle tours and hikes in the Sächsische Schweiz National Park.

This rustic, cosy farmhouse was fully renovated in 2016 and offers its guests newly designed and comfortable rooms. The house provides around 120m² of living space on two floors for up to six people. Real wood flooring, walls plastered with lime and wooden ceiling beams ensure a cosy interior atmosphere. As there are no carpets, the house is also suitable for allergy sufferers. The ground floor has a cosy living room with a fireplace, satellite TV, home entertainment, a CD, DVD and Bluray player. The new kitchen is fully-equipped with a ceramic hob, fridge, dishwasher, oven, coffee machine (whole beans), toaster and kettle, and also includes a dining space for up to six people. The hallway provides access to the bathroom on the ground floor with a shower and WC, as well as the sauna in a sandstone vault (payable). Wooden stairs lead to the upper floor to a large bedroom with a rustic bed (180 x 200cm), a lounger and a wardrobe. There are two further bedrooms each with an ensuite shower room and WC on the opposite side of the hallway. One bedroom is furnished with two rustic single beds (90 x 200cm), the other with a rustic double bed (180 x 190cm). Especially in the bedrooms and living room, attention was paid to the originality of the furnishing, which is rustic and made by Voglauer. Wireless internet access is available for free (LTE, 2GB/week free).

You will no doubt be delighted with the large terrace with a grill and seating, accessed from the kitchen. Everyone will find their favourite spot here to relax, sunbathe or read. Around the house you can find several terraces, some built into the steep terrain, with fabulous views towards the Elbsandstein mountains and the Elbe. The first sandstone cliffs adjoin the upper part of the site.

One pet is only allowed on request, at a supplementary charge. The house is non-smoking, but smoking is permitted on the terrace. Wireless Internet access (volume restriction) is available without any extra charge (terms of use have to be accepted). Toddler equipment is also available on demand.

There are many hiking trails all around the locality, also suitable for a short stroll with lovely panoraic views of the surrounding rocky and mountainous world. The proximity to Bad Schandau (2km), the Papststein, the Schrammsteine and the Malerweg, as well as the Elbe cycle path, is a special advantage. The vast and well-developed hiking area between Pirna and the Böhmische Schweiz provides direct access to the Sächsische Schweiz National Park. Guests who enjoy sports activities will appreciate the well-developed cycling and mountain biking network. Pirna and Dresden are within easy access by public transport (bus, boat, train). Bad Schandau offers quality gastronomy. The Toskana-Therme thermal baths await you four kilometres away in bad weather. There are shops in Bad Schanau and Krippen.

    “Hochwertige Ausstattung. Exzellente Sauberkeit. Durchdachte Ausstattung. Für Familien toppen würde das Anwesen eine Waschmaschine. Insgesamt ruhige Lage, zeitweise (aber geringfügige) Beeinträchtigung durch den Zugverkehr. 1500 m², davon aber überwiegend steiler Hang.”

    “Ausstattung komplett, alles, was man im Urlaub benötigt, ist vorhanden und in einem sehr guten Zustand. Haus ist sehr schön restauriert und man fühlt sich sehr wohl darin, Lage in Krippen am Hang sehr schön. Zur Bahn oder zur Fähre sind es max. 10 Minuten Gehzeit. Wanderwege beginnen in unmittelbarer Nähe. Sehr netter Vermieter!”
