This wonderful holiday apartment in a top location in Beatenberg offers you a beautiful view of the mountains of the Jungfrau region. From both bedrooms you can marvel at the beauty of the Swiss mountains, practically from your bed.
The spacious and functionally furnished holiday apartment is located on the first floor of a 19th century farmhouse and was renovated in the 1990s. The owner lives in the same house. However, you reach your apartment via a separate entrance. Thanks to the great location, with the nearest neighbours approx. 100 m away, you can relax in a quiet atmosphere, conjure up delicious meals in the kitchen and let the evenings fade away in the living room. On warm summer evenings, the communal barbecue and seating area, which is shared with the owner, will tempt you. The owner respects your privacy, but will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Please note that in some rooms the ceiling is only approx. 1.80 metres high and taller people may have to bend their heads down from time to time.
Stroll through the unspoilt natural surroundings and pay a visit to the Alp Heubühlen show dairy. Take a bike tour to the Grünenberg Pass or swim in the outdoor pool in Habkern (neighbouring municipality, open from June to September). The Beatenberg region offers wonderful views of Lake Thun in the Thal valley and the famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in the distance. Away from the tourist crowds, this is the ideal place to relax and unwind in the great outdoors.
Not forgetting the popular excursion destinations nearby. Visit the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch, which is only a 90-minute drive away, or take a trip to the Beatushölen, the Jungfraujoch via Interlaken or the impressive Aare Gorge near Meiringen. The owner also recommends excursions to: Harder, Schynige Platte, Brienz (with a great lake), Brienzer Rothorn, Spiez, Zweisimmen, Lenk, Gstaad, or Kandersteg (via Lötschberg: Interlaken-Brig in Valais by train 1h) as well as the cities of Thun and Bern with their historic and UNESCO-protected old town.
Hike through high moors and karst fields and enjoy the peace and quiet on a leisurely walk along the Beatusweg from the Waldegg district to the village centre. On the play and adventure trail you will learn a lot about the legend of St Beatus.
Ideal hikes (tips from the owner): Niederhorn, Burgfeldstand, Gemmenalp with many hiking routes back to Beatenberg, Justistal, Sigriswil, Lake Thun, return journey by boat (post bus from Interlaken included in guest card), Waldegg, Habkern with show dairy Alp Heubühlen (post bus for return journey included in guest card).
