Apartment La Vigna in Serralunga d'Alba

This is a holiday house with two apartments located in Serralunga d'Alba. It lies in the heart of the Langhe, now a UNESCO heritage site, and famous for its excellent Piedmontese wines, the most well-known one being Barolo .

The holiday house is located 300 m from the centre of Serralunga; with its majestic and slender Castle it is one of the most famous castles in the Langhe and Roero area. Its construction dates back to 1340 and 1357 and it served as a military defence function against of the invasion of the Saracens as well as to oversee the area. Since 1949 it has belonged to the State and pertains to the Regional Museum Hub of Piedmont.

The apartments have fully equipped kitchens with dishwasher, oven, fridge and the use of a washing machine. One of the apartments can link to an additional studio apartment allowing you the flexibility to have a larger apartment with two bedrooms with additional cost, if required. Each apartment has a private terrace overlooking the sparkling pool and the rolling hills where the best bunches of Nebbiolo grape ripen and become, after having fermented and aged in the famous Slavonian oak barrels for at least 5 years, fine Barolo wine. The apartments are fitted with satellite TV , free Wifi and Airco. Free parking spaces and a garage on demand are available if needed.

The house is located within easy walking distance to the village Serralunga, making is easy to wander among the many restaurants and bars and enjoy the famous Piedmont Cuisine with its gastronomic specialties and wines without needing a car. Not far from the apartments, many hiking trails in the hills and vineyards and bicycle routes take you to Roddino, Bossolasco (757m above sea level) Monforte, Diano d'Alba, Montelupo, Albaretto, Dogliani, Murazzano, Marsaglia and Mombarcaro (896 m above sea level) from which you can see the Ligurian sea on a clear day

Each year, from October to November, the renowned Alba White Truffle Fair takes place in Alba (15 km from Serralunga). The Alba White Truffle World Market is the largest international exhibition of truffles from the Piedmont hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato. Every day, thousands of freshly picked batches of truffles, are displayed and sold.
In the town of Bra, 15 km from Serralunga, the Cheese Festival is usually held on the 3rd weekend in September every 2 years ( 2013, 2015.. etc.). It is described as the biggest collection of quality cheeses from all over the world and attracts around 150,000 people. The Festival is organized by the famous Slow Food organization (also located in Bra).
These events make the house the ideal place for enjoying a holiday with excellent food and wine from Spring to Autumn.

    “Un accueil fantastique à l’Ital… à la Piémontaise! Positiv: l'accueil et les conseils de Salvatore pour visiter la region... ses bonnes adresses de restaurant, son excellent raisin "du balcon" et son savoir faire diplomate : même son voisin se fait discret pour tailler son jardin afin de ne pas nous déranger pendant la sieste au bord de la piscine ;-))) Negativ: Sincèrement... j'ai beau chercher ? ... peut-être la voracité et la taille des moustiques ? mais bon c'est partout pareil et comment apprécier le Paradis, si ici bas tout était déjà parfait !”
