Wonderful Holiday House in Zelinika with Private Parking and Great View

This is a 300-year-old stone house with an annex in the village centre of Mrkovi, which has been restored true to its style and with dedication. It has a very personal décor with charming details. Contemporary technology was not forgotten, so it has hot water supplied by solar energy, under-floor heating and air conditioning. The pool has a counterflow system and children in particular will enjoy the waterfall on the bridge.
The lower and upper floors are connected by stone stairs inside and outside, with an open structure, and iron stairs lead to the gallery with a balcony. Each floor has an open fireplace for cosy hours in winter. The two bathrooms each have a shower and WC and there is a separate WC on the ground floor. The big kitchen is fully-equipped with all the necessary appliances, crockery, table cloths, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The house has air conditioning, a telephone connection, satellite TV and under-floor heating in winter. Each floor has a big sofa bed (180cm and 160cm wide), as well as a double bed on the gallery and a double bed in the bedroom. You can park your car in front of the house. Two bicycles are available for use. A grocery seller comes daily with the most important items. On Lustica there is no public water supply and no ground water. Water comes from cisterns. If you arrive by plane (Podgorica, Dubrovnik, Tivat) then we can pick you up by taxi on request, or a rental car can be arranged.

The interior courtyard with greenery has open stone stairs leading to a shaded arcade area and a stone terrace. You go up to the roof terrace along the gallery. You can grill in the garden or on the stone terrace, with a table and chairs for six people. The roof terrace affords a great view of the sea and a mountain panorama. The garden has a second grilling and dining area, a swimming pool (5 x 6 x 2.5m) with a counterflow system and a bridge with a waterfall. The newly planted trees are starting to provide shade, whilst an awning and a big parasol provide shade by the pool.

The house is in the middle of Mrkovi on the Adriatic side of the peninsula, next to one of a total of fifteen churches on Lustica. It is very quietly situated and surrounded by old olive groves. At night you can hear jackals barking in the distance. The following trips are recommended: about 20km to Tivat (Porto Montenegro and shopping facilities), about 35km to Budva (a beautiful old coastal town), about 25km to Kotor with a lovely old town and fortification wall, and you can go around the whole of Kotor bay with its old villages, such as Perast, a trip of about 50km. On the way you can find good fish restaurants (Stari Mlini) and other restaurants. It is also recommended to go on beautiful trips into the mountainous area, to old monasteries or up to Lovcen at 1740 metres. Nearby beaches are Forte Rose about 1.5km away and Janica/Mirista about 5km away. You can enjoy various sports in the area, as well as a leisure pool, good restaurants and bars. You can go on boat trips from Janica beach to Herceg Novi, to the “Blue Grotto” and secluded bays.
