The "Lindenhof Bergenhausen"
We welcome you to the Lindenhof Bergenhausen in the beautiful Westerwald.
In the village of Bergenhausen, which has only 12 houses, we offer you four spacious non-smoking holiday flats for different numbers of people on our estate, which was formerly used as a farm. You are also welcome to bring your dog with you and to keep your horse on our spacious pastures or in our open stable. Bergenhausen is a district of the district town of Altenkirchen, which offers all the shopping facilities and services of a medium-sized centre. You can reach it easily in only a few minutes by car. In spite of the close proximity to Altenkirchen, Bergenhausen is very rural, surrounded by woods, meadows and the Wied. So you can set off directly from the house for a nice walk, a bicycle tour or a horse ride and enjoy the nature. By the way, Bergenhausen itself only has one access road, which ends at the end of the village. So there is no through traffic. As mentioned above, we offer 4 holiday flats, which are of different sizes and therefore also for different occupancy rates: The "Kornspeicher", the "Wäller Stube", the "Bauernkate" and the "Spatzennest".

The "Granary"

The granary is the largest holiday flat at the Lindenhof and can be reached via an external staircase. It has a floor area of approx. 120 m² and, as already mentioned, is located in the attic. Although there are sloping ceilings in all rooms, the rooms are almost completely usable thanks to the high knee-level and the two large dormer windows.

The three bedrooms in the granary provide enough space for 7 people to sleep. The two large bedrooms are each furnished with a beautiful double bed (180 x 200 cm).

One of these bedrooms has a large dormer window and floor-to-ceiling windows, so that you can enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding meadows and forests from your bed. There is also a single bed in this bedroom. However, "stargazers" should rather choose the other large bedroom, as here the bed is located directly under a 140 cm skylight with a clear view directly into the sky.

The small bedroom has two corner single beds measuring 90 x 200 cm and 100 x 200 cm. The bedrooms are completed by antique wardrobes and an antique chest of drawers. If the apartment is occupied by more than 7 people, the sofa bed could be used for sleeping or an additional guest bed could be set up.

The living/dining area, measuring approx. 45 m², offers space for a large, rustic dining table (100 x 200 cm), which can seat up to 8 people, as well as a very spacious living area, which can be used for cosy TV evenings with the large flat-screen TV or long winter evenings in front of the large wood-burning stove. From the living room you can also access the 12 square metre balcony with its comfortable lounge area.

The kitchen is also very spacious with its approx. 25 m² and cosy design with its very individually made cupboards. Here you will find everything you need for cooking and baking on the 90 cm wide electric cooker with induction hob.

The granary is completed by the beautifully tiled antique marble bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin.

History of the granary

...the name is no coincidence, as the attic of the Lindenhof, where this holiday flat is located, was originally the storehouse for the harvested grain, i.e. the "granary", of the farmers who lived there generations ago. Until 2001, the former granary of the Lindenhof was only used as a normal storage room. Then this part of the Lindenhof was also made usable again: almost everything above the ceiling of the upper floor was demolished and completely rebuilt. When rebuilding the old granary, we also endeavoured to use as many historical building materials as possible, giving the living spaces a very special charm. We were very lucky to find old, fired clay tiles for the very large living/dining room and two bedrooms, which were actually once used in a granary around 200 years ago.
In the kitchen and the third bedroom, solid oak ship's floor parquet was installed, which also comes from a deconstruction.
