Welcome to this picturesque countryside setting and to this house with character, where a great mix of styles creates a cosy atmosphere. With a view of the nature reserve and the sea, you have everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The house in the southern part of the island may not offer all modern amenities, but it is in an excellent location, especially for birdwatchers. Make yourself comfortable by the wood-burning stove and enjoy your time together.

Explore the bird-rich surroundings. Few other places in Europe have such large, contiguous wetlands as Öland. Here you can spend a lot of time watching wading birds. The southern tip of Öland in particular is known for its rich birdlife. There you will find the Långe Jan lighthouse, Ottenby Nature Reserve and Sweden's most famous bird centre, Ottenby Bird Station. Every autumn, millions of migratory birds fly over the area on their way south. Climb the 197 steps of the lighthouse and you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the southern tip of Öland and the sea. Because Öland is so flat, it is also considered the perfect island for cycling. The island is so narrow that you can cycle to the sea from anywhere on the island! The limestone plain, Stora Alvaret, offers you unique nature that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If you want to experience more, simply cross the six-kilometre bridge to Kalmar or take the bicycle and passenger ferry, Dessi.
