Our shepherd's carts offer holidaymakers, hikers and cyclists a very special way to stay overnight. You will feel completely connected to nature in the cozy and romantic ambience of our Shepherd's Cart Park. With a view of the Kasselburg, you spend the night like the shepherds used to do.
Park gastronomy
Our team looks forward to seeing you and your family in our restaurant-café “Adlerhorst” - because we certainly have the right snacks and small dishes on offer for every visitor! The outdoor beer garden also invites you to linger. Especially if the children “first” want to slide or climb because of the adjacent playground.
If you stay overnight in our shepherd's cart, you will receive 2x entry to the park during regular opening hours (including arrival and departure days). If you stay for several days, entry to the park is included on all days!

In our shepherd cart park there are 6 carts with enough space for 3 people each and 1 cart for 2 people. The 3-bed carts with the names “Schäferkarren”, “Einhornhütte”, “Dumbo-Wagen”, “Bloxberg”, “Burgblick” and “Köhlerwagen” have a double bed, a bunk bed and, if desired, an extra bed for children. It's idyllic in our 2-bed cart called “Owl's Nest”. The “Owl’s Nest” is only equipped with a double bed for lovers. This way you can spend your wedding anniversary, a birthday or just a romantic weekend for two in a completely different way. The shepherd's carts can be booked from April to November.

In every shepherd's cart there is a coffee machine, coffee pods, kettle and tea bags.

Cancellation conditions: If you cannot start the trip and we cannot find a replacement tenant for this time, the following rule applies: From the time of booking, a cancellation fee of €50 will be charged for the work involved
We charge a cancellation fee of 30% of the travel price up to 21 days before the start of the rental period Up to 6 days before the start of the rental period, we charge 60% of the travel price as a cancellation fee From the 5th day until the start of the rental period, we charge 85% cancellation fees of the travel price If you arrive later or leave earlier, we also charge 85% of the travel price.
Note on the guest contribution: To promote regional tourism, overnight guests in accommodation establishments in the municipality of Gerolstein have been paying a guest contribution of 0.75 euros per person per night since 1 January 2024. Children aged 0-5 and business and educational travellers are exempt from this fee.
The guest contribution is not included in the booking price, it is collected separately by the accommodation and forwarded to the Gerolstein municipality.
