    “Mauel zelf is erg klein, geen winkels. Vlakbij ligt Waxweiler waar je wel terecht kunt voor je boodschappen. De omgeving is schitterend, mooi vertrekpunt voor wandelingen in een gevarieerd landschap”

    “Einkaufsmöglichkeiten findet man im 5 km entfernten Städtchen Waxweiler. In Mauel selber gibt es keine Geschäfte, Restaurants o.ä. Da wir ein Auto vor Ort hatten, war es für uns kein Problem, ein paar Kilometer zu fahren. Wir haben eigentlich die absolute Ruhe genossen. Man geht die Haustür raus und ist ein paar Meter weiter in der schönsten Landschaft. Man muss halt gezielt einkaufen, da man nicht "mal eben" etwas nachkaufen kann. Aber für uns - wie schon gesagt - kein Problem.

    Ausflugsmöglichkeiten gibt es sehr viele. Wir waren unter anderem wandern, shoppen in Bitburg, am Stausee in Biersdorf, im Eifelpark und noch einiges mehr. Wir waren nur eine Woche dort und haben gar nicht alles geschafft, was wir uns vorgenommen haben, wie z.B. der Besuch der Teufelsschlucht. Zwar ist auch hier immer ein Auto erforderlich, aber das wussten wir vorher. Wenn man ein paar Tage ausspannen möchte, ist man in Mauel genau richtig. Partylöwen sollten sich nach etwas anderem umschauen.”
