Also worth a visit are the northern regions in Mae on Tai or Chiang Mai as they offer stunning landscape which is referred to as the ‘Rose of the North’ by locals. In the north eastern part of the country one can find Udon Thani, which is situated on the Khorat plateau and impresses with its stunning buildings from the old Khmer.
